Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI will go over setting realistic goals after my observation of how quickly they pick the sport up based on age and experience in other sports.
I go over fundamentals such as the grip, stance, and swing form. I usually go over the FH only, or I test their full repertoire of shots to see where the focus needs to be.
Lesson 11+Once they get more practices in on their own beyond my lessons, I can get them to the next level, and they will be ready for league play if they so desire.
Lesson 4-10By lesson 5, we have gone over all the shots in tennis, and I will introduce matchplay to them with scoring rules. My goal at this point is for my students to go out by themselves and start playing/practicing.
Lesson 2-3I like to use a system of progressions.
Hand feed balls to racket balls to hitting live balls.
Depending on the student, my goal is to always push them beyond what they thought they are capable of.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonFinding out first what their goals are and whether they play doubles or singles or both. Then check out all their strokes. If there are any technical elements in their shots that may hold their progress back, I will address it.
I will also teach tactics and strategy to help improve this level player.
Lesson 11+With league play and tournaments, they can test themselves to see their improvement. Their feedback can provide me with insights to get them to the next level.
Lesson 4-10They can expect better technique where needed.
They can expect to have different pattern of play to help their consistency and confidence to dictate play.
They can expect to have a higher first serve % and a lower unforced error %.
Lesson 2-3It will focus on live ball hitting, working on movement, and placement.
Fine tuning areas and making sure proper footwork is utilized.

Youth players
Working with kidsI make tennis fun with kids playing games and using targets. I give them lots of praise, and I am very patient with them.
Working with teenagersI can relate to teenagers as I have a daughter that age.
You got to make it fun and keep them engaged. Continue to challenge them, and their progress will keep them wanting to play more.
What you need to bringBesides a racket, please bring a water bottle, towel, sun glasses, a hat/visor, sunscreen, good tennis shoes and don't forget... a great attitude!
