Beginner training plan
Your first lessonApproaching the first lesson with a beginner as a Tennis Coach 1. I will greet the player warmly and introduce myself and also create a comfortable environment to ease any form of nervousness 2. I will ask them about their previous experience if any and what they hope to achieve, afterwards I will discuss with them any specific areas of interest such as, stroke development or match play. 3. I will ensure they have the right equipment thus, racket and appropriate training gears, if needed, I will recommend a suitable gear. 4. I will explain to them the fundamental rules of tennis such as, scoring and court layout and also discuss basic terminologies such as, forehand and backhand serve. 5. I will lead them through a simple warm up to prevent injuries and prepare for practice and this includes, dynamic stretches and light footwork exercises. 6. I will teach them proper grip for forehand and backhand strokes and discus with them the ready pod and how to maintain balance on the court. 7. I will then start with basic drills such as, Toss and catch to develop their hand and eye coordination. 8. Lesson 11+Expectations for their remaining lessons, As my athletes progress through their tennis journey, they can anticipate a well structured and comprehensive approach to their skill development, physical conditioning, strategic play as well as their mental resilience. Each lessons will be built upon the previous lessons, by ensuring that the athletes continue to grow and polish their abilities on and off the court. In the future lessons, I will place a significant focus on their stroke improvement. I will place more emphasis on their consistency, accuracy and their ability to impart spin on a ball. As my athletes gain their confidence in the fundamentals, I will then introduce them to advanced techniques such as, drop shots, lobs and overheads. This progression will allow the players to develop a unique playing style that plays a leverage on their strengths and preferences. In addition to this, I will engage the athletes into increased match play scenarios. I believe that these real game situations will stimulate tournament conditions by providing them with a valuable experience in a competitive environment. During these matches, I will analyze their performances by helping them to identify both their strengths and weaknesses for further improvements. Furthermore, tactical training and physical conditioning will become a key focus area. The athletes will learn various match strategies which includes, effective shot selection and positioning on the court, understanding how to read an opponents game and adapt to strategies accordingly. Coach Philip, is such a great mentor. He has been coached for more than 5 years now. Through his coaching skills I was able to represent my country Ghana and my University in International tournaments winning both gold and silver medals. Currently I am in the USA and I’m doing great.

Parent of an Athlete
As a parent of an athlete training under Coach Philip, I can’t express enough how positive our experience has been. Coach Philip possesses an exceptional ability to connect with each student by providing a supportive and encouraging environment. I tell to the fact that, his knowledge of tennis is impressive and effortlessly. My children at the end of their first week lessons with him saw a remarkable progress in their confidence and love for the game. It is very unfortunate that he had to leave us to the States so early.
