Beginner training plan
Your first lessonEach athlete is unique and at a different point in their tennis career. The first lesson, I get to know the athlete and better understand their goals. I'll run drills based on the athletes desires and to better understand their skill level. I usually begin with hand fed balls to work on technique and understand the basics of tennis, then move to live fed balls, and point play. We play tennis out of the love for the game, so I focus on keeping drills fun. In order to do this, each drill will have a goal/purpose that can be achieved.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonEach athlete is unique and at a different point in their tennis career. The first lesson, I get to know the athlete and better understand their goals. I usually begin with hand fed balls to access the athlete in order to run drills that best fit the athletes needs. Then I will move to live fed balls and point play. We play tennis out of the love for the game, so I focus on keeping drills fun. In order to do this, each drill will have a goal/purpose that can be achieved. That is the general structure of my lessons, but am happy to adapt lessons based on my athletes desires [ex: if an athlete wanted to focus the entire lesson on one specific skill (serving/volleying/forehands/backhands) or live point play, I would be happy to adapt the lesson plan].

Youth players
Working with kidsWhile I was the coach at Forest Hills Borough, I had the opportunity to coach athletes as young as 5. During these lessons, I focused on drills/games that are fun to ensure that the athlete develops a love for the sport. Through these drills/games, athletes develop technique and an understanding of the sport.

Working with teenagersMost of my coaching experience comes from coaching teenagers. Every teenager is unique and has their own purpose for playing tennis. For example, some play because they love the sport, some play to compete at the highest level, and others play because their parents wanted them to compete. Regardless of their purpose, I find ways to make lessons fun. If lessons are fun, athletes gain a passion for the sport, and learning technique and skills comes naturally for them.
