Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson for beginners will be a introduction to the racquet, ball, and net.
We will focus on swing path, body postion, and grip.
Lesson 11+Reinforcing consistency with muscle memory while using the feet as a seperate entity to move around the court. You can expect by this time serve and volleys ( different strokes) will be introduced. We will begin to learn the rules of tennis.
If we have focused on specific areas on coordination that needed to be addressed its about time the student will be ready to hit the ball and develope muscle memory focusing on the swing and feet.
Lesson 4-10With a positive coordination response you can expect to introduce the feet! We will incorporate moving the body while keeping the fundementals of the swing we learned in lessons 1-3. Its very possible this can be delayed due to the coordination and the response to the new motions and behavoir. If thats the case we will focus heavy on hand and eye coordination developing stronger connections and response in those regions.
Lesson 2-3Repetition and developing muscle memory is going to be important to obtain a swing thats consistent for one to play the game. Minor adjustments will be made to fine tune the swing.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson I will hit with student and address any concerns of theirs. We will discuss goals and strategies.
Lesson 11+During physical stamia our bodies will tend to breakdown losing our technique as we become tired. Managing this and developing a stronger response will be a key to out last your opponet. Also as we progess the game changes. As we get better so do our opponets and so we will focus on playing the game in new ways that will give the student the chance to win the point. Emotions are huge and can be detrimental to us during a match. Our emotions directly affect our physiological response and will greatly impact our ability to perform. The mental and emotional experience has a huge impact on us physically so expect this to come up.
Lesson 4-10Breaking habits can take time so expect a continuance if any corrections or adjustments are made to continue during this phase. If none where made we will continue on footwork and physical stamina.
Lesson 2-3You can expect heavy footwork and quick movement fine tuning the seperation from the swing and footwork. Although both come to meet eachother eventually its important they know their positions and work independently until the ball crosses the net. We will also correct or adjust any technique that henders the player.
Youth players
Working with teenagersWorking with teenagers is more of a facilitating approach. Its great because they can still have fun playing games yet still put in the work that makes us champions. I enjoy seeing the different styles as well as the energy and passion they have.
