I have been teaching students of all age groups for about 10 years. I am an experienced tennis player familiar with various game styles. Tennis requires attention to technique, physical and mental fitness, footwork, tactics & strategy,. I help my students with all aspects of the game and help them develop. I look forward to working with you.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI explain the basics of the game and usually begin with motor and ball handling skills. Begin lesson with dynamic warmup.
Lesson 11+Focus on point play, simple tactics, developing strategic aspects of the student
Lesson 4-10Additional skills including volley and overheads, serves, returns, footwork, ground stroke combination drills and simple rally skills including transition game.
Lesson 2-3I explain grip fundamentals and begin teaching basic strokes of tennis such as forehand and backhand
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonFox advanced players, I will first have a discussion with the student to know what aspects of their game they want to focus on. Usually these could be specific technical issues and/or tactical and strategic issues. After an evaluation of the student’s game, I usually focus on 1-2 areas for this preliminary lesson
Lesson 11+I often play points, games with my students to see if they are able to incorporate the learning from previous lessons. Sometimes I arrange matches for evaluation and development.
Lesson 4-10I have prepared clinics to focus on various aspects of the game and will systematically go over the relevant clinics. Examples: Rally patterns, transition game, Serve & volley advanced, Doubles skills, Return game and tactics, Net play and overheads, Tactics & strategy based on player type and level, etc.
Lesson 2-3In this phase, I usually focus on specific areas to work on based on previous discussions and evaluation after the first lesson.
Youth players
Working with kidsWhile working with kids (below 12 years), I use the softer green dot balls and recommend they use age appropriate racquets (smaller length and lighter). I try to keep my lessons more lively and fun so that kids enjoy the game. More emphasis on motor skills and overall game experience.
Working with teenagersDeveloping technical and competitive skills for kids older than about 12 years. I begin to emphasize key elements of tennis such as control over depth, spin, direction, consistency, height and power. I like to spend more time on developing all court skills, especially volleys and net play/transition footwork. I focus on developing the foundation for a good serve and return. Also more emphasis on physical fitness and movement. Elements of tactics and match strategy will be discussed as students advance.
