About your tennis coach

Hey my names Michael I have a great passion for tennis, I offer 14 years of experience to players of all levels. As a seasoned player myself, I bring a unique perspective to instruction. I used to be not very skilled in my game in the first two or so years but I looked up on the things that I could do to improve and found myself eventually as one of the best players on my high school team. We played multiple State Tournaments and the players on my team looked to me for advice on their own game. I am very confident I can teach anyone the fundamentals and basics as well as exercise high level playing and strategy. I look forward to coaching you!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst we would gauge the beginners abilities and see where they land in their skills. We would go from wherever they are and if theres any problems we would clear those up immediately.
Lesson 11+Hopefully at this point I would be more of a hitting partner pointing out discrepancies than an instructor trying to teach fundamentals but if coaching over certain things was needed then it would be done.
Lesson 4-10We would start a routine of practice while introducing more varied shots to be able to have the beginner start being able to equip more types of weapons in their hands to use during playing tennis.
Lesson 2-3We would start focusing on the rules of the game and basic striking/strokes to help the beginner gain a good sense of the game.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonGain a sense of the players playing level. Identify the strengths and weaknesses of the player. Look at their knowledge of the rules, etiquette, and strategy of the game.
Lesson 11+See above.
Lesson 4-10Repetition practice would likely take up most of the lessons from here. Making sure we practice every type of shot especially ones that feel like weaknesses in their play.
Lesson 2-3An advanced player should be more aware of their own skills and in these lessons we would just need to highlight their game plan for improvement and see what we could focus on while constantly improving all parts of their game.

Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with kids you’ll need to teach more than just the fundamentals. Sometimes I felt that you’ll need to teach more in depth into a movement and I would just be teaching a very basic level of the fundamentals.

Working with teenagersFirst time players that start as a teenager is where I started, this would be maybe the easiest age group for me to teach. I think this would be not too difficult to teach eager young athletes on how improve their game.

What you need to bringAnything they have that fits for tennis, Tennis shoes, Workout clothes, Tennis racquet, Additional grips if needed, Water.

What I can bringTennis Balls, and maybe 1 or 2 random racquets

I had Michael as a coach so he could help me get better as a player. He taught me a lot but could be a bit demanding which is probably a good thing. I communicated that I wanted to ease up on the work and he adjusted the workout and session. Honestly really great and if I had time I would take up more lessons

I was a new player that didn’t have any experience and Michael showed me some basic stuff and we hit back and forth for a little while. He was very helpful in getting me to make my swing feel more natural. Would recommend for sure!

Really good hitting partner, I felt pretty good whenever we would hit. If you just want someone to feed you balls or to make challenging points or to give some feedback. Michaels your guy

Michael was a senior when I was a freshman in high school and he helped me develop a good foundation when I was first learning tennis. I remember our coach saying he had good fundamentals and I didn’t really understand it at the time but as I continued playing I understood it eventually. Being casually coached by Michael a few times helped me a lot to be the player I am today.

My friends were playing tennis and I wanted to join them. I didn’t know anything though and I wasn’t very good so I asked Michael if he could teach me some basics and see what he could make me be able to do. He was very structured and easy to follow. I think he tries to talk in a way that you can understand as tennis can be more about the feeling of the ball and things like that. Would recommend
