About your tennis coach

Hi! I'm Lily, and I'm originally from Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve been passionate about tennis since middle school, and I was a highly competitive doubles player throughout high school. In 2023, I was honored with an All-Region award, recognizing my competitive drive and strategic court presence. Last summer, I coached at Agape Tennis and Pickleball Academy in Atlanta, where I worked with kids ages 5 to 14. That experience deepened my commitment to helping beginner players build a strong foundation in the sport. Whether you're just starting out or looking to sharpen your technique, I bring energy, patience, and a love for the game to every lesson. I enjoy coaching all ages and am dedicated to helping each player grow their confidence, skills, and passion for tennis.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI'll start off by getting to know the player and if they've had any previous tennis or sport experience. I'll ask some more fun questions along with that to help break the ice and create a fun safe environment. I will enforce court safety in a friendly way to make sure no one gets injured on the court. I'll start off with some drills before even touching the racket to help them develop their hand eye coordination and get them feeling comfortable on the court. We will then slowly move into how to hold the racket and practice strokes from there.
Lesson 11+For the remaining lessons, we will be working on specific issues that the child is struggling with and strengthen their skills. We will always continue forehands, back hands, and volleys through drills and games. By now, they should also learn serves and hopefully be able to keep a rally going for a short period of time.
Lesson 4-10Around this time players should know for hands ready position and even start backhands, volleys, and how scoring works. So many fun games and drills will have been played and at this point it's all about repetition and continuing proper technique.
Lesson 2-3I always start with a quick warm-up and then we will continue building on the basics such as forehands and ready position. Once I say that they're comfortable hitting the ball from a standing position, we will incorporate them moving their feet to hit the ball, which only allows for more fun games to be played.

Youth players
Working with kidsWhile working with kids, I normally start off with learning basic fundamentals. Once I see that they begin to grasp these concepts, I will start to incorporate games and/or drills to further improve their skill.

What you need to bringTheir own racquet, full water bottle, and snack if wanted.

What I can bringI can bring my own raquet, balls, ball carts, and some cones we will use for drills.
