Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson I like to start out with hand eye coordination and form. Before picking up a racket it’s important to get a feel for footing and formation. First lesson I will walk you through the foundations of tennis with some exercises to get a feel for your new found skill. Some drills I will introduce will have everything to do with foot work and learning how to hit a forehand.
Lesson 2-3As a beginner we want to continue with our work on forehand shots before we move on to backhand shots and serving. I will begin the second lesson with some drills to bring confidence to your forehand shots with some accuracy. If you are a quick learner we will more on the back hand shots.
Lesson 4-10Our next lessons will include drills with and without a racket to hone in on your serve backhand and forehand. We will begin every class with some exercise and muscle building for your tennis muscles. Tennis can be a relaxing sport, however, these exercises will make it easier to play longer with less risk of injury. So, do not be scared when it comes to bringing exercise into your lessons!
Lesson 11+Now that we have our foundation and the basics of tennis, we will take your game to the next level with some one on one games and accuracy drills. You may be able to hit the ball over the net at this point but can you adjust your shot based on your opponent. Tennis is not just a physical game of who can hit harder, so why not bring some mental lessons into the mix to get you to think quick on your feet. You will be ready for the big leagues in no time!
