Currently the Athletic Director/ Personal Tennis Coach of "TENNIS UP llc. . Officially trained & Interned for Nike Inc. /Tennis Division. Former head coach and 2 time divisional Champions 2018 & 2019 at Notre Dame High School/ Riverside. Affiliated with & Head Coaching for The City Of Riverside "Jr Tennis Program" Coach Larry Vargas started his coaching & tennis experience first with "NIKE INC. in the TENNIS DIVISION" This provided the opportunity to work & interact inside a top level tennis environment with professional coaches/ trainers and even TOP RATED USTA TENNIS PLAYERS. He then went on to receive his C.I.F. Coaching Certificate and became the Head Tennis Coach for Notre Dame High School/ Riverside. He also became part of the "JR. TENNIS.PROGRAM" for the city of Riverside offering group tennis lessons for kids of all ages. Coach Vargas specializes in coaching / training young adults & kids of all ages. From: beginners/ intermediate & advanced players. along with providing drills & a great workout using his own Tennis Ball Machine. Personal lesson programs are created to show planned lessons & progress of each tennis player within a few lessons! I Look forward to hear from you and working together.

After having 1 month of tennis lessons(1 lesson a week) Melanie has not only developed a great forehand & backhand stroke, But she has increased her stamina with her cardip impact ability using our Ball Machine and the drills of hitting continuously up to 50 tennis balls towards the end iof practice giving her a great workout AND increasing her level in her tennis game...

Great beginners student and eager to learn the game of tennis. I only had the opportunity to coach her for 2 months. But by then, she was able to hit consistent volleys, serve and could her own in playing a complete set against others within her level of tennis. She plans on picking up more lessons in 2025 after the holiday season comes to an end..

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIntroduction to tennis. The Coach will start off with some all around info about tennis starting with your racket and how to properly hold grip your tennis racket when swinging. From there the coach will start off with the 1st drill which is instructing how to properly do a forehand swing and will hand toss tennis balls 10 at a time as each set the coach will pause to provide you with anything that needs to be changed or encouraged of what is being done correctly as all drills are about.... Muscle Memory..

Lesson 11+CHALLENGE DRILLS & SCRIMMAGE GAMES ARE INCLUDED BY THE 10tj Lesson. The tennis player will start to learn strategic skills and mental strengths of controlling emotiona, consciousness breathing and experience real tennis by playing full sets with other players within the same tennis level provided by the coach.
Lesson 4-10Footwork/ Volleying/ Approach Shot/ and 1st part of Serving! The drills are more intense/ Challenge Drills are implemented to show the players geadual improvement,
Lesson 2-3Recap on the 1st lesson starting back up with the forehand swing dtill. Then the coach will began to start training with your backhand swing and will hamd toss tennis balls with this drill getting the player familiar with their backhand swing. 3rd Lessons is all about both forehand & backhamd swings but using his ball machine set to beginners level. Using the ball machine gives more repetitive practicing as the balls are shot out every 3 to 4 seconds and allowing the coach to be right there critiquing the players swings while hitting from off the ball machine.

Working with kidsI specialize in coaching kids with over 7 years experienced from coaching the Jr. Tennis Program and being the head coach for Notre Dame High School. This coach provided challenge games, exciting and fun drills and even has a reward program which is done at the end of each lesson.
Working with teenagersMY LESSONS INVOLVE CONDITIONING AND REPETITIVE TENNIS DRILLS TO PREPARE EACH TENNIS PLAYER FOR TRY OUTS AND THEIR UPCOMING SEASON
