Beginner training plan
Your first lessonStudents will learn the tennis court layout, basic rules, and how to hold the racket correctly. They’ll practice simple hand-eye coordination activities like tap-ups, tap-downs, and bounce-catch to build control and confidence.
Lesson 11+Students will review all skills, participate in guided match play, and receive coaching feedback. This final phase helps them grow in confidence while applying what they’ve learned in real game situations.
Lesson 4-10Students will learn how to rally consistently, serve with proper form, and volley near the net. They will practice moving around the court with correct footwork, play short matches, keep score, and develop basic game strategy and sportsmanship.
Lesson 2-3Students will be taught the forehand and backhand grips and swing techniques. They’ll build comfort and accuracy through drills, target practice, and mini rallies using both strokes.
Youth players
Working with kidsI adapt my tennis coaching to meet each child’s unique needs by creating a supportive and encouraging environment both on and off the court. With two years of experience assisting coaches under the YMCA in Georgia and my current role as an after-school youth teacher, I understand how to connect with kids at their level. As a Christian, I strive to lead with patience, kindness, and integrity, encouraging not only skill development but also character growth. I believe in helping kids thrive by fostering confidence, teamwork, and a positive mindset rooted in faith. Helping kids grow both in tennis and in life, guided by God’s love, is my greatest joy.
