I introduce the court, racquet, and basic rules of tennis in a relaxed, fun way. Beginners learn how to hold the racquet, make contact with the ball, and rally from a short distance. By the end of the first session, theyβll know how to start a rally and understand basic scoring.
The focus shifts toward match play, consistency, and tactics. Students practice patterns of play, directional control, and mental preparation for competition. Lessons feature point play with live coaching feedback to build confidence in real match situations as they progress toward the intermediate level.
This phase develops all-around game skills. Players refine serves and returns, add volleys and overheads, and learn how to rally from baseline to net. We introduce doubles positioning, strategy, and full scoring. By lesson 10, beginners should be comfortable playing structured points and short games.
We build on fundamentals with forehand and backhand groundstrokes, proper footwork, and consistent contact. Players begin learning the serve motion and practice returning balls with more control. By this stage, they can rally several shots in a row and start to feel confident moving on the court.
I start with a full assessment: live hitting, serves, and point play to identify technical strengths, weaknesses, and specific goals. From there, we refine core mechanics like timing, racquet acceleration, and footwork efficiency to ensure a strong foundation before layering advanced tactics.
The emphasis shifts to competition readiness: mental toughness, tactical adaptability, and match play under coaching feedback. Video analysis (if available) and tailored strategy help players refine their style and develop consistent performance at tournament or high competition levels.
Players work on match-winning patterns such as rally tolerance, attacking short balls, defending against pace, and effective transitions to the net. Sessions include situational point play, pressure drills, and fitness elements that build endurance and explosiveness.
Focus on advanced shot development: heavy topspin and slice variations, consistent kick/flat serves, attacking returns, and sharper net play. Drills emphasize precision under pressure and constructing points with intentional shot placement.
