About your tennis coach
I am a lifelong tennis player (I grew up going to France every summer and playing on red clay). I am also a Physics teacher and the Head Coach of Ramapo High School's Boys' Tennis Team (if you are an Ramapo-Indian Hills student, sorry, I can't give you any lessons)! If you want deeply personalized lessons in Physics/Math or Tennis at any level, I'm your guy!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe will work on our foundations. I will work on your grip, stance, and contact point. We will focus exclusively on getting you comfortable tracking the ball properly while in motion.
Lesson 2-3We will work on ground strokes (forehand and backhand), serves, and return. We will focus on moving side to side, preparation, and switching to the proper grip between strokes.
Lesson 4-10We will focus on court movement, net play (volleys and overheads), and tactical shot selection & placement. These split-second choices are what make tennis competitive and fun!
Lesson 11+We will focus on refining the skills we have built together in our prior lessons to form you into a full-fledged tennis player!
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson will be diagnostic to determine your level. This will determine the rest of training.
Lesson 2-3We are entirely focused on "beating the ball to the bounce," in order to get your footwork, movement, and reaction time up to par with your competition.
Lesson 4-10We are working on low-percentage shots (passing shots, first serve, winners, et cetera) in order for you to learn how to win the point definitely and minimize errors.
Lesson 11+We are working on general refinements to your game, and your tactical awareness in the context of tournaments. The focus will be on pacing and energy conservation for long matches.
