With an extraordinary tennis journey, I rose to prominence as a top-ranked junior player, both nationally and internationally. My collegiate career with NC State and Morehouse College saw me achieve an unprecedented feat, marking an undefeated season and defeating the #1 player on the nation's top-ranked team. My talents extended to the ATP World Tour, where I secured world rankings in both singles and doubles, despite an abbreviated tour stint due to sponsorship challenges. Afterward, I transitioned to work alongside distinguished players in the WTA/ATP tours, including Heidi El Tabakh, Edina Gallovits, Donald Young, and more. My coaching prowess also shone as I trained junior world champions, including notable names like Emma Kurtz and Dillon Pottish. Currently, I'm dedicated to running a junior program aimed at preparing young talents for college tennis and beyond. In addition, I'm building a comprehensive tennis academy featuring six courts, a swimming pool, and dormitory facilities, where the future of tennis can be nurtured and inspired.

"Erik is a terrific coach who achieved a lot in his own career. Now he has a passion for helping players at all levels and ages. I started working with him as a 43 year-old cancer patient with barely any prior experience. His encouragement, consistency, and skills have empowered me to fight this cancer and given me the confidence to know that my body is still strong every time we're on the court. Erik has helped me through a particularly hard part of my journey--I got very bad news this summer--but when I'm out on the court I feel strong, and he always respects my limits. Erik had taught top-ranked players, but whether you're a future college player or pro or a 43-year-old cancer patient without any experience, he will encourage you to be your very best. Erik has helped my tennis athlete become more consistent with his rallying and volleys. Erik observes my athlete and provides on-going feedback about any adjustments needed to improve his ability to consistently hit the ball. The on the spot, in the moment feedback, helps my athlete make the adjustments needed to become more accurate with his plays. Erik’s focus on foot work, has my child moving his more now. The techniques and strategy provided by Erik are helping to improve my athlete’s overall tennis game.

What I can bringI can provide rackets if requested. I bring a basket of tennis balls to each lesson. I can also help players purchase additional equipment through my online store.
