Beginner training plan
Your first lessonTo start, I like to get a background of a students skills and history playing tennis and other sports. I use those to have reference points when working on the technical skills needed for tennis in the first few lessons.
Lesson 2-3We will spend a lot of time developing the technical skills for each shot type: forehand groundstroke, backhand groundstroke, serve, forehand volley, backhand volley, overhead.
Lesson 4-10We will refine the skills and elements for each swing, while introducing and developing footwork patters. We will also spend time working on the scoring and nuances with playing tennis competitively.
Lesson 11+Refining skills, improving efficiency on court.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonUnderstanding where they are and what their goals will be. Taking the necessary steps to reach those and discussing any technical/tactical changes to make.
Lesson 2-3Refining skills and focusing on one or two key areas to improve, usually with efficiency in swing path or movement.
