About your tennis coach

Brian, an accomplished adult player, has won a Texas sectional Men’s Open level major zone tournament and achieved a 6.0 NTRP rating. He is also a former Texas sectional major zone tournament champion at the 5.0 level and was USPTA certified to teach tennis 1999. Among his many achievements, his favorite memory is playing father-son doubles. As a coach, Brian has guided thousands of students, earning recognition from the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department for his work with junior players. Many of his former students have reached the super champ level, with one winning an NCAA D3 national championship in 2019.

Generally, I find Brian has a good structure on the court, and he can rally with me for more energy and engagement which keeps things pretty active. Still, I’d like to see us progress towards a full shot regimen during rallies, though. If that improves, I think it’ll help me quite a bit moving forward. Definitely worth trying out if you want a coach who can keep the structure going without losing focus.

Your first lessonReady position and grips. Stroke technique. Have fun.
Lesson 11+Keep having fun and getting better.
Lesson 4-10Continue to learn strokes and play fun games. Learn net play.
Lesson 2-3Learn to produce the stroke techniques better. Learn to move to the ball and still use the proper techniques. Also learn to serve with from beginner proper technique and never allow students to use for hand grip on serve.

Youth players
Working with kidsHave fun playing beginner games learn the scoring.

Working with teenagersTeens still want fun looking to be guided and think about being as good as they can be. A more practical approach can be taken.

What you need to bringA extra racket back pack with a full water can and extra attire, a towel, a cap, Sun block lotion, and in sect repellant.

What I can bringLoaner racquets can be reserved in advance. Please message me once you have booked that you will need a loaner racquet.
