About your tennis coach
As one of the only special needs preschool and elementary tennis coaches in town, I’m dedicated to creating an engaging and all-inclusive environment where every child can learn at their own pace. Before becoming a coach, I spent over 2,000 hours working with young children (ages 2-8) with special needs. These experiences have shaped many aspects of my coaching approach, which includes using developmentally appropriate language and tailoring each lesson to fit each child’s abilities. In addition, I’m also a member of the National Alliance of Youth Sports (NAYS) and hold an active coaching certification. I look forward to being part of your child’s athletic journey!

Lesson 4-10Review previously learned skills and begin to apply these skills to the court

Youth players
Working with kidsFirst and foremost, the majority of each session is play-based. Throughout the session, I follow the child’s lead while incorporating basic skills into the lesson. I also offer a variety of choices - racquet color, ball color, type of activity, etc.
Working with teenagersBoth on and off the court, I foster an environment that includes good sportsmanship and teamwork.
What you need to bringWater bottle and/or snacks; any other items you want to provide to help ensure a smooth session; player(s) can provide their own racquets and balls if desired
What I can bringEvery session: child racquets and balls; other equipment for various activities throughout coaching session // upon request: choice, communication, and token boards; visual reminders and schedules; time and stopwatch
