About your tennis coach
Hi! My name is Aiden, and I am a former NCAA Division III tennis player. Ever since I was big enough to hold a tennis racket in my hand, I have had a passion for playing and teaching the sport. I have experience coaching city programs, individual hitting sessions, and country-club league teams. I have a very flexible coaching style with a focus on form and technique as well as strategy. I am capable of teaching all skill levels, and I am excited to meet you!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn my first lesson, we will start with how to grip the racket. This is the most fundamental step in your tennis journey. If time allows, we will begin practicing “shadow swings” without the ball.
Lesson 2-3Next, we will work on swing technique on the forehand and backhand side. We will begin striking the tennis ball, but it will be fed with a soft hand toss to ease the player into the motion.
Lesson 4-10Next, we will progress to making contact with a ball that is hit at you from the other side of the net. These balls will be coming faster, so it is important that we take this time to ensure that your technique is sound. Most of these lessons will consist of forehand and backhand drills to get as much repetition as possible. We will also begin working on the serve technique.
Lesson 11+Finally, we will progress to open point play. This is where we will work on creating and maintaining a live ball rally with each other using the technique we learned in previous lessons.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonAt first, we will start with a few basket-fed drills so I can get a good baseline for the player. I always like to see the forehand, backhand, and serve form before I suggest any significant changes (if necessary).
Lesson 2-3Later, you will decide if you want your lessons to be more technique focused or more strategy/point play focused. I will then begin specializing in your desired area.
Lesson 4-10At this point we will have a good understanding of what we would both like to get out of your tennis lessons. Most practices will consist of the player telling me what they would like to work on, followed by a specific drill for that technique.
Lesson 11+Finally, we will transition away from the focus on technique and towards point play. The focus will be on implementing the technique we have learned into live point play scenarios and strategic environments.
Youth players
Working with kidsWith really young kids, I like to work on the very basic ma with them while keeping the sport fun! We will play fun tennis games while learning the fundamentals such as the “low-to-high” swing.
Working with teenagersWith teenagers, I can focus on a wide variety of interest-levels. I can prepare your teen for their upcoming high school season (I was a former high school player too), or I can help them get ready for a more intense USTA tournament.
