The first lesson always depends on your current skill level! We will evaluate what you know about swimming so far and then dive into the ways we can improve or coach you to get the biggest gains! Most often, this includes adjusting form in a specific stroke for more intermediate and advanced swimmers, drills, and breath control for younger swimmers or a combination of both!
Remaining lessons will focus on bringing it all together into a full swim program including swimming IMs. We will dial in on specific goals like practicing for open water swimming, or races, diet, and even military swim tests. Any goal specific work will begin here.
A beginner can expect to widen their knowledge of the sport and begin to learn different strokes beyond the typical freestyle. We focus on developing breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly. We will break these down into their components, i.e., dolphin kick, etc. In order to piece together all the strokes. Diving and breath work begins.
In lesson two, we have a plan, and our audit of your skills has been completed in the first lesson. We will begin to enhance techniques and drills to get to a certain goal. Like making the swim team, passing a lifeguard swim test, training for sprints or endurance, etc. With younger students, we aim to learn to swim safely and effectively.
