About your swimming coach

My name is Coach Jack. For over 28 years, I've refined my passion for swimming into a dedication to fostering growth in my students. With a focus on technique and individualized learning, I aim to help swimmers of all levels unlock their full potential in the water. Ny Ang range is 6 months to 100 years. I swam competitively for 20 years, and have coached/taught privately for the last 4. I specialize working with those with IDD, and I place heavy emphasis on the safety side of swimming. Once safety is achieved, then I focus on refinement so we can get faster and stronger. I have successfully taught over 1000 students and have over 24,000 lessons (ranging from 20 minutes to 1 hour).

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonGetting to know you. What are your fears, accomplishments, or special accommodations. What are you looking to get out of lessons?

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonHow do you personally want to get better? Do you want to be faster? Hold your breath longer? Have more endurance? Swim longer?

Youth players
Working with kidsI make our lessons fun! Focusing on safety, but also making sure we know the water is a fun place to be.

Working with teenagersI follow the same teaching method, but I require all my students to try regardless of how difficult it may seem. The only time we fail is when we give up.

What you need to bringI would recommend goggles, and possibly a kick board. I can teach you how to swim with fins and and snorkel as well

What I can bringAs of now we will learn with no equipment, for safety purposes

Coach Jack is an amazingly wonderful man. I am not able to truly express how grateful we are for him. My 14 year old son has Cerebral Palsy, and we tried 4 swim schools and 12 instructors. Jack was our final resort as everyone else had given up on my son, saying he would never swim. On our first day, Jack greeted us with smiles, listened to us and our worries, and took my son into the water. After 12 instructors telling our son it was hopeless he, along with us, obviously had a lot of trust issues. But within 5 minutes, he was laughing and smiling, and FLOATING. Coach Jack had done what everyone else said was impossible. And then suddenly Jack was teaching him how to move his arms and legs. We watched in awe as Jack got him to swim half way across the pool on his own (Coach Jack called it Squid). I realized right there that Coach Jack was the real deal. 12 other instructors, 4 swim schools, with 40 failed lessons…. We will never swim with anyone else ever again. Coach Jack met our son at his level, and built him up. We immediately got our other 3 kids to swim with Coach Jack. My youngest daughter was 2 years old and was terrified of the water. Within 5 minutes she was giggle and blowing bubbles. Jack was teaching her to float and jump into the water. AT 2!! My other two children, it was the same thing. Smiling and having fun, learning the basics and refining skills they already had. Before we realized it, 8 months had passed and all of us were taking lessons from Jack. My two middle children (Jackson and Anna) are joining their first swim teams. My wife and I can tread water for 7 minutes and swim nonstop for 20 minutes. My youngest (Emma) is able to swim freestyle and backstroke. And my oldest (Frankie) is learning how to do breaststroke, as he has already learned squid, and freestyle. Please please PLEASE, take your children to see Coach Jack. He is a one of a kind person with true gift for teaching swim, and he never gives up on his students. If these last 8 months have shown us anything,it’s that there are still good people in this world, and Coach Jack is one of the best, with the purest heart.

We love Coach Jack! He is patient, kind, and fun with my daughters, but also professional and holds them to task. He has coached my 3 daughters for 3 years now. Every summer for the past 2 years, others have asked where we swim as my twins were independent competent swimmers by age 4. Now at 5, they are learning the different strokes and can safely tread water. My girls and I trust Jack and lessons with him are the highlight of the week!

We have been taking our child to lessons here for almost 2 years, and have always had a great experience. Our child has autism and a genetic disorder, and sees Jack for lessons. Jack is so incredible with him, and he trusts him completely. We are so grateful for his patience and tenderness with our kiddo! We are so grateful for his patience and tenderness with our kiddo! When we first started, our child wouldn't put his head or ears in the water, and wouldn't let anything touch his face. I shared this photo with my review to show his progress - wearing googles and hamming it up for the camera. Thanks for all you do for us, with all the skills Jack has taught him. You're making a huge difference in our child's life :)

Over the past two years, my younger brothers, who are both special needs, have had the privilege of learning from Coach Jack, and I cannot say enough about how truly amazing he is as a swim instructor. From the very beginning, he showed such patience, kindness, and genuine care - not just for teaching swimming skills, but for building confidence in the water. Jack has a natural way of making kids feel safe, supported, and excited to learn, and he worked with my brothers in such a respectful, understanding, and encouraging way. What stood out most to me was his balance of professionalism and warmth. He always encouraged the boys with positivity, met them at their level, and celebrated even the smallest victories, which kept them motivated and smiling. They absolutely loved going to lessons because of him, and I could see how much he truly invested in their progress. Jack isn't just a teacher; he's a role model. He brings so much heart and dedication to what he does, and it makes all the difference. I am beyond grateful for the impact he's had on my brothers, and I know the lessons he's taught them will stick with them for life-both in and out of the pool. If you're looking for someone who is not only highly skilled, but also compassionate, patient, and deeply committed to his students — especially those with special needs -I wholeheartedly recommend Coach Jack. He is truly one of a kind, and anyone would be lucky to work with him. - Nicole, Gen, Brady & Bren

We have done swim lessons for our son at AquaTots and Swim Labs, and nothing compares to WaterWorks. Waterworks is such a phenomenal place. They have actual lap pools and the instructors are amazing. Our sons primary instructors have been Tyler and Jack, and within 8 lessons he was swimming laps. Every time we tell our son it's time to go for his swimming lesson he is so excited to go and looks forward to meeting Jack. Our son loves swimming here and has learned so much. You can't go wrong with Coach Jack because the technique he uses to teach swimming works and we could not be happier.

I highly recommend Jack. He was able to get me to reach my goal in less than 10 lessons. My granddaughter was getting married in Hawaii, out in the ocean, so we all had to learn to tread for at least 10 minutes. Lifetime fitness said they couldn’t teach me anything past 3 minutes, as I hadn’t treaded water in 30 years. On a whim, I tried Coach Jack as my niece wouldn’t stop raving about him teaching her kiddos to swim. Coach Jack understood my goals and taught me how to keep my body up the correct way, and we started treading. He kept telling me the first 3 minutes were the hardest, and where I would want to give up. When I asked him how long he could tread, he laughed and told me his record was 3 hours. I realized he wasn’t joking, and me learning to tread wasn’t impossible. Needless to say, I made it past the 3 minutes, then made it to 10, and pushed myself to 20. And the wedding? It was a smashing success. I wish I had continued taking lessons with Coach Jack, but I unfortunately had to move to California. However, I highly recommend Coach Jack, as he meets you where you’re at, rather than looking down on you. I wish I had had someone like Coach Jack when I was learning to swim as a 5 year old. -Gael
