In addition to learning the skills, as a beginner it’s really important for me to feel safe and confident in the ocean and the lesson provided all those things. Without planning to I ended up spending a beautiful afternoon in the ocean with a great instructor and some nice waves. People in my group and I can stand up after some land practices even though this is all our first time riding waves. He and Neil are helpful in pointing out things to focus on every time we fail which I think is crucial for a beginner.
