Born and raised in San Diego, CA, a passionate surfer and waterman. You can find me surfing all types of boards and waves from 2-20 foot. I started competing in high school and still do today, however as the years passed it was clear surfing was different, it wasn't just a sport, the lifestyle drew me in and now I love to share my knowledge and the surf experience with others. I taught at standard surf schools for 6 years where the clientele were mostly tourists looking for the iconic surfing thrill. Ending university with a Psychology degree gave me opportunities to work as a surf therapist at rehabilitation centers in Malibu, CA. The adventurous spirit of surfing has taken me to Hawaii, Oregon, Brazil, Portugal, Baja and Mainland Mexico. There's nothing like chasing swell up and down the coast of the place I call home, California. Three years ago is when the vision of Luna Surf Experiences started, a culmination of my past experiences personal and professional, trailblazing a unique approach to surfing and life. Let’s Surf!

I've been surfing for a few years now, but I still had a lot to learn. Ryan was able to identify the areas where I needed improvement and gave me some great tips and tricks to take my surfing to the next level. He's a knowledgeable and experienced instructor, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their skills.

Had two sessions now with Ryan Luna, I would recommend him hands down to anyone who is interested in learning to surf. He teaches on the land initially and then takes you to the bay to surf. This method helped me to better understand what to expect when you start to surf in the bay. On whole a great instructor.

What you need to bringBring a small bag with towel, bathing suit, sunscreen, and water. Surfing is a very active experience so do what is best for your body concerning eating prior to your session.
What I can bringEquipment is provided if needed. I’ll need the height and weight for each participant to get the best board and wetsuit possible to ensure a great experienced.

We totally understand that life can be unpredictable and plans might change. That's why we've got your back with our flexible cancellation policy, designed to give you peace of mind when booking private sports lessons with our awesome local instructors!

If you need to cancel your lesson, no worries! You can get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of making your booking. We want to make the process as hassle-free as possible for you.

And if you simply want to reschedule your lesson, change the date and time, or adjust the number of students joining, we've got you covered there too. You can easily make these changes within 24 hours of booking, and up to 72 hours before your lesson starts.
