Clay is a distinguished athlete and coach with a remarkable track record, having earned two gold and one silver medal with the US All Army team from 1993 to 1995. A celebrated ASA A West National Batting Champion in 2004, he is also a future Hall of Fame candidate. With an impressive history of 12 U National Championships and 14 U State Championships, Clay currently serves as the Head Coach at Oklahoma Wildcat Prep Academy in Oklahoma City, where he continues to inspire and develop young talent in the sport.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonMy first lesson is called Gator. It allows me the opportunity to check hand and eye coordination by simply playing catch without a glove.. doing drills to build confidence, focus, awareness and how to control of your body in softball situations 🥎
Lesson 11+By the time we get this far in lessons, we should have a good understanding on what we need to keep working on. I am flexible on what we can do.
Lesson 4-10Hitting is awesome..we will work on the Tee with and without our softball bat . Footwork, Stances and positioning are all issues of importance to be successful in hitting. Drills are great ways to improve eye contact , staying close to our body and unleashing that bat through the zone ..
Lesson 2-3Drills,Drills and more Drills
•Crazy 888 ) we are taught to always attack the ball in the middle of our 8 (2 cone separated about 6 ft apart)while shuffling back keeping a low posture, without turning your back and making the crazy 8 Motion repetitively until instructed to stop.
•V drill. ( 3 cones Vshaped) this drill works on moving backwards to your right and to your left. Also coming forward, while moving in those directions a ball will be tossed to you. Most of these drills will be explained properly when we’re on the field.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonGet warmed up… Make sure the athlete is properly warmed up ,we want to avoid injuries as much as possible. A advanced player requires more ground balls, flyballs and of course drills .. muscle memory means a lot and repetitive situations makes you more comfortable at performing your task at hand .. we can take some cuts to see what kind of bat you have .

Lesson 4-10Softball is the greatest game .. constantly doing the same thing over and over and trying to get better …I’m always willing to keep practices lively, fun and productive !
Lesson 2-3If you’re playing travel ball ? I’d like for you to keep up with your performance from the past weekend. Whatever you felt was your weakness is what we will work on first until we get you comfortable. Followed by drills , Tee work and soft toss
Youth players
Working with kidsThe the best way to practice for kids is to make sure they are having fun because they pay attention more. Keep them feeling like they can do it because if they don’t feel like it they tend to get down on themselves .Drills are fun🤩 
Working with teenagers emphasize being focus and paying attention to detail because in many cases their still learning the game .
What you need to bringPlease bring a good attitude and be ready to work..equipment needs are your glove, bat and good footwear. (cleats, turf or tennis shoes )NO SANDALS OR CROCS
What I can bringI ve coached my daughter since 2007. She hit 64 Home Runs in her career…I have those balls for all the reps we need🥎 Heavy ball , Tee and Cones
