Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI typically ask them to throw to me / hit a few softballs and view what could use improvement and go from there! I’ll send them home with some drills they can do. I will also ask their position or ideal position
Lesson 11+Once looking at little details, I will continue to ask for videos to better understand if the drills we are doing are working. We can adjust to different drills or move on to the next thing the athlete wants to work on or new positions they want to try
Lesson 4-10After the first couple lessons, I will ask them what they feel like they need to improve. I would usually ask mom and dad to take videos if they’re on a club team or little league team and see what they’ve done. Once the athlete tells me what they think they need to work on or focus on, we can start to look at the little details
Lesson 2-3Once we’ve discussed drills, I will repeat the same process. I will take some videos or pictures to visually show improvement or what to work on. Then we will move on to different drills or adjust
Youth players
Working with kidsMany young kiddos starting off will learn the very basics of throwing a ball or hitting the ball. It’s the drills that will teach them to stand out or develop their ideal position or hitting stance
