Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson is learning what the player and his family thinks he needs to work on. Do a personalized assessment through basic dribbling passing and shooting to see if opinions align. Begin to work on the technical aspects of the game that need to be worked on.
Lesson 11+The integration of workout bands, parachutes, and more of a physical workout will be expected while still increasing the level of cognitive function during drills.
Lesson 4-10The 4th to 10th lessons are to continue with their progress on the technical side while making drills more cognitively complex and maintaining the same standards.
Lesson 2-3Second and third lessons. No assessments but every lesson starts with a simple conversation. What did you notice in your latest practice or game that we might need to work on. There’s a plan made but if it’s left foot shooting you noticed needed work we might be more specific when we get to the shooting drills.
Youth players
Working with kidsCalmer explanations with a standard that’s still age appropriate. I’m always trying to push players regardless of age.
Working with teenagersProducing age appropriate feedback and encouragement while increasing the difficulty and standards.
