The first session is about assessment and comfort. I evaluate basic skills like dribbling, passing, touch, and movement while keeping things low-pressure. I focus on fundamentals, introduce simple drills, and will set clear goals with the player we both know exactly what they’re working toward.
As you improve, your training will be more personalized. Sessions can focus on specific weaknesses, position-specific skills, and game awareness. The goal is consistency, confidence, and preparing the player to perform comfortably in real game situations.
This stage is about progression. Sessions will become even more intense and structured, with sharper technique, quicker decision-making, and more game realism. We will transition towards more intentional footwork, positioning, and applying skills under pressure while continuing to build fitness and confidence.
By now we will start to build consistency. I’ll reinforce the fundamentals, (ball control, passing, movement, and basic shooting) while changing variations and increasing reps/tempo. I’ll also introduce simple game-like situations catered towards their position to help them apply skills naturally in the game and start building confidence.
The first session will be about evaluating the player at game speed. I’ll assess technical quality, decision-making, movement off the ball, and positional habits. From there I can set clear expectations and goals so training is purposeful and aligned with their level and position.
Training is now fully individualized. Sessions target specific weaknesses, position-specific details, and game awareness. The goal is consistent, confident performance and preparation for real match situations at a high level.
