Beginner training plan

Your first lessonIn the first session with a beginner, I focus on creating a positive and supportive environment. We start by introducing fundamental skills; such as footwork, ball control, and movement, to assess their comfort with the ball. I also take time to discuss mindset, attitude, and personal goals. From there, I develop a tailored training plan to build confidence and set a strong foundation for growth.

Lesson 4-10Between Lessons 4 and 10, players can expect a steady progression in both skill development and game understanding. Training becomes more dynamic and challenging, with a focus on refining technique, improving consistency, and applying skills under pressure. We’ll introduce more advanced ball control, passing, shooting, positioning, and small-sided scenarios to build tactical awareness. Sessions will also emphasize decision-making, reaction speed, and adapting to game-like situations. At the same time, we’ll continue working on mindset: building confidence, focus, and resilience. Feedback becomes more detailed and goal-specific, ensuring that each player sees measurable growth while staying motivated and engaged.

How it works

Lesson 2-3In the second and third sessions, we begin to build on the foundation laid in the first lesson. These sessions focus on reinforcing the basic skills introduced, such as footwork, ball control, and movement, through targeted drills and repetition. I start incorporating more game-like situations to improve decision-making and awareness. We’ll also continue to develop confidence and consistency, while gradually introducing new technical elements tailored to the player's goals and progress. Each session is designed to challenge the player appropriately while keeping the environment positive and encouraging.

Advanced training plan

Your first lessonIn the first session with advanced players, I focus on evaluating technical ability, movement, and decision-making under pressure. Training is fast-paced and challenging, with targeted drills designed to sharpen ball control, passing, footwork, and finishing. I also assess mindset, work ethic, and goals to create a personalized plan that pushes each player to reach their full potential.

Lesson 4-10From Lessons 4 to 10, training becomes more intensive and tailored to the player’s position, goals, and playing style. Sessions focus on advanced technical refinement, high-pressure decision-making, and improving speed, agility, and efficiency on the ball. Tactical awareness and situational training are introduced to simulate game demands. Each session is structured to push the player out of their comfort zone, build consistency, and prepare them for high-level competition through smart, focused repetition and personalized feedback.

Lesson 2-3In Lessons 2 and 3, we build on the assessment from the first session with more focused, high-intensity work. Training targets specific areas like first touch, speed of play, decision-making, and technical precision under pressure. Sessions are designed to challenge the player physically and mentally, while reinforcing strong habits and refining position-specific skills based on their goals.

Youth players

Working with kidsWhen working one-on-one with kids, I focus on making the training fun, supportive, and easy to understand. The goal is to build confidence and coordination while helping them feel comfortable with the ball. I adjust the pace based on their energy and focus, always making sure they feel encouraged and proud of their progress

Working with teenagersWhen working one-on-one with teenagers, I focus on building technical skills, confidence, and a strong work ethic. Training sessions are structured but flexible, with a focus on refining fundamentals like ball control, movement, and decision-making under pressure. I give clear, honest feedback and adjust drills to match their level, goals, and learning style. Alongside skill development, I also encourage personal accountability, focus, and a positive mindset, helping them grow not just as players, but as individuals.

About your soccer coach

With 15+ years of coaching experience, Coach Kyle specializes in developing players ages 5–17 through a strong focus on foot skills and technical training. A former center midfielder with 28 years of playing experience, including the NJCAA National Championship, Kyle brings elite-level insight and energy to every session. He’s coached with Greater Binghamtons Foot Skills Academy and Palm Beach Youth Athletic Association, and led a U12 boys team to a runner-up finish at the Disney Cup. Kyle’s training is all about building confident, skillful players through technical mastery, smart movement, and game awareness. 15 years of soccer instruction, I cultivate players' skills and ignite their passion for the game. Kyle’s experience ensures a supportive yet challenging environment, nurturing growth and love for soccer. He always provides expertise to propel players towards success.
