Hello! My name is Elijah and I have a great passion for the sport of soccer. I am dedicated to coach players of all skill levels to improve their performance on the pitch. Whether your brand new to the sport of soccer learning the fundamentals or playing at a competitive level, I will be there every step of the way to assure you get the best quality of training. I have played since I was a child, from leading my highschool team as captain, playing competitive club soccer, to playing at the collegiate level. I also have 2 years of individual coaching experience, applying everything I have learned from my previous coaches to training individuals. My philosophy as a coach is to understand that every player is unique to their style of play and must be trained based on their strengths and weaknesses. Whether that be finishing, ball control, decision making, field awareness, or dribbling. While these are important, unlocking the players mentality and ability to play with full freedom and confidence is what is equally as important. Training will be fun and lighthearted but will also guarantee improved performance.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson will be all about getting to know you as a player. Whether your brand new to the sport or have been playing competitively for years, it will be an assessment on your skills, strengths, and weaknesses. Keep in mind, training will be vastly different based the player’s age and skill level. Every training session will start with a stretch, a warmup without the ball, 5-10 minutes of juggling, sometimes cardio based on the players endurance, then a series of drills and games that test passing, dribbling, shooting, and defending.
Lesson 11+There is no such thing as perfect and there is always room for improvement! At this point, the player will be fully understood and the quality of training will only improve especially in the later stages. Training will include a series of drills based on what the player needs to improve but will not neglect other aspects of the game. The player and coach will reflect on the previous lessons and decide what works best for the player and what could be improved for better quality of training.
Lesson 4-10By this time, I will have a full idea of exactly what the player needs to be working on. After the warmup and juggling, the player will be doing routine drills that will improve the area that needs work. Lessons will not necessarily be centered around a player’s particular weakness, but will differ from shooting, dribbling, defending and other categories. After the drills and based on the quality of the training session, the player will be allowed to relax with a game, shooting on goal, or 1v1s.
Lesson 2-3Lesson 2-3 may vary based on lesson 1. Depending on how experienced the player is and identifying strengths and weaknesses. The warmup and juggling will be almost every session. Lessons 2-3 will still be about pinpointing what the player needs to work on but I will have more of an idea at this point.

Youth players
Working with kidsBased on the child’s age, training may differ. What is most important is improving and teaching the child but with a fun and lighthearted approach. The child will train through a series of drills and games that best match the child’s skill level and age. If the child is young and is new to the sport of soccer, teaching the child the rules of the game and to have fun on the field is what is most important. Training children in the sport of soccer is very important for their development and skills on the field when they’re older.

Working with teenagersTraining teenage soccer players is exciting because they are often very energetic and passionate when it comes to playing the sport. Like every player I train, they will be treated with respect and will be understood. This is the age group where they are developing into adults and is very important to get training right in order to perhaps prepare them for a high school team, club team, or college team.
