Beginner training plan
Your first trainingI start by getting to know the player, their experience level, and what they want to improve. We work on basic ball control, dribbling, passing, and proper technique through simple drills. I keep the first session encouraging and low-pressure so the player can build confidence while I identify their strengths and areas for improvement.
Training 2-3We build on the basics with more repetition and movement. Players practice dribbling through cones, short passing, receiving the ball, changing direction, and basic shooting. I begin adding small challenges so they can improve coordination, control, and confidence.
Training 4-10Players begin combining skills in game-like situations. Training includes faster dribbling, passing while moving, shooting with both feet, defensive footwork, positioning, and simple 1-on-1 drills. Each lesson becomes more challenging based on the player’s progress while continuing to reinforce strong fundamentals.
Training 11+Training becomes more individualized and focused on the player’s goals. We work on advanced ball control, speed, decision-making, finishing, positioning, conditioning, and realistic game situations. I continue tracking progress and adjusting drills so the player keeps improving while enjoying the game.
