Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst practice would consist of learning the basics of soccer. How to get comfortable with the ball and slowly work our way into dribbling and passing. We want to be confident in these skills so we can move onto bigger goals (pun intended).
Lesson 11+These lessons are going to be focused mainly on skill and how to prepare for future games. I will also be consistently asking if the player wants to focus on anything specific or practice playing a specific position on the field. I want to help create a player who feels confident in their skill.
Lesson 4-10I will slowly begin to add in shooting drills, and many other types of soccer drills and exercises. Hopefully by now we have almost perfected a dribble and pass.
Lesson 2-3These lessons are going to be focused more on the different ways to dribble or pass using different surfaces of the feet. We will be getting much more confident in dribbling while keeping our eyes off the ball and on the field.
Youth players
Working with kidsAdapting my lessons to be kid friendly looks like integrating games and soccer. For example, tag but with dribbling, or
Working with teenagersI would adapt these lessons and make them a little more competitive. I would include repetitive training that allows the player to get use to the field and ball.
