Beginner training plan
Your first lessonA simple diagnostic test. We’ll start with a basic repetition exercise followed by a rhythmic pattern test.
Lesson 2-3The beginners can expect to learn the basics such as scales, major and minor keys as well as harmonics.
Lesson 4-10Lessons four through ten will include worksheets that implement sight reading, range, introduction to theory etc.
Lesson 11+On going lessons will include worksheets, songwriting skills, harmonizing, working with other singers in a professional environment, world music cultures etc.
What you need to bringThis course focuses on singing, so it's important to learn how to care for your vocal cords. Bring your own water bottle.
Also bring along the following items:
1. Manuscript Paper
2. Stadtler Eraser
3. No. 2 Pencil. A 0.07 mm lead pencil is acceptable
4. A willingness to learn different songs and styles
5. Journal to log in progress and practice time hours
6. A metronome. Digital metronome apps are fine.
7. Vocal recording device. I recommend using GarageBand.
