Ric Henry has been an incredible music teacher for my daughter Rachel over the years. Rachel came to him with a lot of raw talent, but Ric helped her take that gift to an entirely new level. He didn’t just teach her how to sing or perform. He taught her the whole craft of singing and performance, helping her grow in confidence, discipline, and character in ways I could never have guided her myself. One of the greatest advantages of having Ric as her teacher is his real-world experience. As someone who regularly directs productions in San Diego, Los Angeles, and now Hawaii, he brings a perspective you simply can’t get from someone who only teaches. He understands exactly what directors look for, how auditions really work, and what a performer needs to bring to the stage. Those are things that are hard for a parent to explain, but Ric communicates them with ease and complete clarity. Ric’s approach with Rachel was always thoughtful and well-rounded. His teaching went far beyond technique. He worked with her as a whole person, and because of that, she walked into auditions feeling prepared, calm, and confident. I watched her performances become more expressive and polished, and she genuinely looked forward to every lesson. I’m deeply grateful for the years Rachel spent learning from Ric. His influence shaped not only her skills but also her growth as an artist and a young adult. I can’t recommend him enough.

I can't recommend Ric enough! From the very first lesson, it felt like I was just hanging out with a really good friend. He created such a comfortable and judgment-free space that honestly, sometimes our sessions felt a little like therapyβ€”which was so helpful for getting over my nerves! The techniques and new ways he approached singing were a game-changer. I still use his techniques every time I practice! He helped me gain a much deeper understanding of my own voice and exactly where to focus my energy for improvement. What I really appreciated was how much he learned about me as a person.. he'd pick material that truly resonated but also strategically pushed me on areas that needed work. If you're looking to gain confidence and understand your voice better, maybe even come out of your shell, do yourself a favor and book a lesson with Ric You won't regret it!

I live in San Diego, California I've been friends with Ric Henry 14 years. When I met him, Ric was hosting Open Mic venues and directed Cabaret Shows. I am an adult singer. I had the pleasure of singing in open mic for 3 years and he was my musical director for three cabaret shows. I enjoyed it very much. Ric challenged me to learn new difficult songs and my voice got better in those three years that I worked with Ric. He's a fun and very creative talented singer and musical director. He would be a wonderful asset to your musical team.

I have worked with Ric since around 2015. His ability to put together a safe and supportive environment, especially when I was first starting down the path of singing, encouraged me to grow in confidence that unlocked parts of my voice I didn’t know were possible. Ric doesn’t just teach singingβ€”he teaches artistry, and the joy of expression all while being in a fun and very creative atmosphere. Every project I have worked with him on has left me inspired and motivated to grow further.

My daughter has had the privilege of being one of Ric Henry’s voice students. Ric has always impressed me as a dedicated, talented teacher with patience and experience to spare. Ric treated all his students (ages 8 to adult) with seriousness and respect and brought to them the joy and fun of the vocal experience. He can truly bring out the best in a vocalist, helping to hone the skills that one only learns from a professional.

Ric Henry is a fantastic voice coach! While teaching he caters around each student’s strengths but also knows how to help with their weaknesses. With his constructive feedback and his unwavering support, I grew so much as a singer and performed vocal feats I never thought possible. I had an amazing time being his student and I think anyone would be so lucky to have him as a vocal coach! Grayce B.
