Learn Singing with Prithvi

At Berklee, I was able to learn under incredibly talented vocal tutors like Anne Peckham, and even collaborate with dozens of incredible musicians! I love teaching and inspiring students to chase their dreams. You are always guaranteed kindness and patience from me along with a sprinkle of dad jokes. I also possess excellent mentorship skills which have led me to help several artists like Thomas Ng & ASHWYN throughout their professional music careers.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonEvery lesson will include working on a song of your choice (or mine if that’s what you need). Additionally, here’s a basic idea of what to expect during each lesson :) Remember to always have FUN! • Warm-Up: Lip trills, humming, and sirens to relax your voice and prepare for singing. • Breathing Exercises: Diaphragmatic breathing with hand on stomach; hold a steady “sss” sound for as long as possible. • Pitch Matching: Play simple notes on a piano or app and match them with your voice. • Sustain Notes: Hold a steady note like “ah” or “oo,” focusing on smooth airflow and control.
Lesson 11+• Song Application: Sing simple songs, focusing on integrating breathing, tone, and resonance techniques. • Advanced Scales: Practice chromatic scales and experiment with different rhythms. • Expression and Dynamics: Work on emotional delivery—adjust volume, phrasing, and tone to express the song’s mood. • Improvisation: Explore runs, riffs, and adding stylistic flair to your singing. • Consistency: Develop a personalized routine, practicing daily for 30-45 minutes and tracking progress.
Lesson 4-10• Warm-Up Variations: Add yawn-sighs and hum scales on “mm” or “ng” to strengthen resonance. • Scales and Intervals: Move beyond 5-note scales to full octave scales and arpeggios. • Resonance: Use “ng” exercises and transition to open vowels like “ah” or “ee” while keeping vibrations forward. • Diction: Sing tongue twisters like “Peter Piper” or “Red leather, yellow leather” on scales. • Breath Control: Increase the duration of sustained notes; focus on dynamic control (soft to loud).
Lesson 2-3• Warm-Up: Repeat lip trills and sirens but extend range from low to high. • Breathing + Stamina: Add “ha-ha-ha” staccato sounds to engage the diaphragm. • Scales: Sing 5-note scales (C-D-E-F-G-F-E-D-C) and experiment with vowels like “la” or “ma.” • Octave Slides: Slide from low to high on “ng” or “oo” for range flexibility. • Pitch Practice: Use a scale app or sing back short melodies for accuracy.

Youth players
Working with kidsI’d focus on fun, interactive activities like singing simple songs, using playful warm-ups (lip trills, sirens), and clapping to rhythms to build musicality.

Working with teenagersIncorporate relatable songs they enjoy, introduce foundational techniques like breath control and pitch matching, and encourage self-expression to boost confidence.

What you need to bringJust bring your positive and eager to learn self! I can promise you that my classes will always be fun :)

What I can bringNo need to bring any equipment! I’ll have my piano to assist while you sing.
