Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst, I would like to know the goals of the student and what the student likes. I also like to hear starting range and quality for vocal students.
Lesson 11+Students will notice either a gradual or quick improvement, depending on diligence in daily practice.
Lesson 4-10I will continue to recommend additions for practice once I start to see improvements.
Lesson 2-3I like to have some continuation of previous lessons to see improvement.
Youth players
Working with kidsWith kids, I realize it could be their idea or their parents. I think the main thing is making it fun and something they want to continue to do.
Working with teenagersI feel like, from my experience that teenagers mainly want to be treated like adults. I also try to prepare them for college, whether they are wanting to be a music major or audition for music scholarships.
What you need to bringNo equipment is necessary for vocal lessons. Piano students should bring a method book of their choice or I can recommend one.
What I can bringI have a Steinway grand piano and I also have an Ivers and Pond spinet.
