Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIdentify student range through warm ups as well as their interests. Ask what music they would like to learn.
Lesson 11+Warm up and breathing exercises. Perform the whole song and begin learning a new song
Lesson 4-10Warm up and breathing exercises. Learn a new section of the song and put the whole song together.
Lesson 2-3Demo warm ups and practice. Begin chunking a piece of music the student chose or something in their range.
Youth players
Working with kidsI choose material for their range that isn’t too rhythmically difficult.
Working with teenagersI choose material that is within their range that isn’t too rhythmically difficult but challenges music literacy a little bit.
