My daughter began taking private voice lessons from Carrie about 4 years ago when she was 9. Her approach to teaching is one of patience and encouragement. I remember being amazed by the changes that began to happen with her voice after the first few lessons. Carrie has a very special way of getting her students to do their best. The pandemic made in-person lessons impossible but my daughter was still able to learn and progress during the year-long online lessons because of how Carrie was able to adapt to online teaching. I am always impressed by how Carrie continues to take courses to advance her own knowledge and appreciate how she shares any new tricks with her students. The recitals that she hosts are not only to showcase her students but to build a sense of community among students and families. Lastly, Carrie is not only a great teacher but she is also a gifted performer. She really can carry a tune...

I started voice lessons with Carrie in 2015, when I was in my late 40's. I am often learning how to un-do 50 years of bad habits with my singing! But Carrie is super supportive, endlessly patient, and will try to come up with yet another different way to explain something, until it sinks in! She is also an AMAZING opera singer, and I can't wait to have her serenade some of my loved ones!! I am so grateful to her because I am able to do things as a singer that I feared I would never be able to do since I got such a late start at it! She is so loving and patient and encouraging with ALL of her students, which I get to witness whenever she puts on a recital so that we can get performance experience. If I had kids, I would not hesitate to send them to Carrie for piano and/or voice lessons! Do yourself a favor!!!

I’ve been an adult student with Carrie for nearly 8 years. I didn’t really get to take formal lessons or do any kind of vocal training as a kid or young adult, so there was a lot to learn technically, and my voice quality definitely improved far beyond what it was in my early 20’s. I gained the confidence to audition for and become a member of a respected community choir. I eventually auditioned for a few local opera shows as well, which I would have never tried without lessons. I was able to get a few paid positions over the holiday season (before Covid) and I also participated in a few local competitions and actually placed, which again, would not have been possible without lesson from Carrie. Highly recommended!

Carrie has a warm and friendly teaching style that helps put students at ease. Her keen ear can pick out the most subtle of details and identify ways in which aspiring singers can improve their vocal technique. She thinks quickly on her feet and is always able to adapt the lessons to the student’s unique needs. My children and I look forward to her lessons as a bright spot in our weekly routine. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking to improve their vocal technique. There’s no doubt that Carrie can help you grow as a singer.

I wasn't born with a great singing voice, but I love music. I took a chance to learn how to sing, and could never imagine how much I would learn in the process. And that my son would take lessons to develop his singing voice as well. Carrie is a knowledgeable, gentle, creative voice instructor who is affordable and can meet in person or on zoom. Her lessons encompass many different vocal techniques, tailored to the individual. We highly recommend her for kids and adults, all ages.
