About your singing coach

With 30 years of experience nurturing voices, I empower students to unlock their full potential. As a concert performer, I bring a wealth of knowledge to help you achieve your vocal goals, fostering both skill and artistry. Let's embark on a journey of musical discovery together! Meet Anna Lissa Jack, a talented singer, songwriter, musician, producer, and engineer and sometimes vocal coach from the San Francisco Bay Area. Anna has been singing and writing songs since she was a little girl. Her musical journey started at the Ephesians C.O.G.I.C in Berkeley, California, where she was pastored by the late Bishop EE Cleveland.  As she grew older, Anna developed a deep passion for harmony and experimenting with different vocal styles and musical genres. Anna’s talent really shone when she joined Castlemont High School’s Castleer’s. Under the guidance of the late great Phillip Lee Reeder, the Castleer’s became more than just a regular high school choir. He inspired many famous recording artists, who all credited Mr. Reeder for their musical journey. Some of Anna’s early musical influences include legendary artists like James Taylor, the Andrew Sisters, Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Andre Crouch, the Matthew Sisters, Walter and Edwin Hawkins, the Jackson 5, Emotions, Carpenters, Carol King, Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, The Beatles, Doobie Brothers, Bee Gees, Fifth Dimension, Switch, and many more. A close friend and brother, Larry Batiste, helped Anna get into AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Recording Artists) and introduced her to professional studio backup singing.  Anna has had the pleasure of working with many talented artists and has made a name for herself as a go to background singer.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonLesson 1: Introduction & Foundations Welcome to our first session! I’ll begin by explaining my coaching style. While I’m not a traditional vocal teacher, I bring over 40 years of experience as a professional singer and performer. My goal is to help you develop your own sound — whether you’re performing live, in the studio, or just singing for joy. We’ll cover: • How to express emotion through storytelling in song • Live performance and mic techniques • Vocal projection and simple adlibbing • How to sing with confidence and style 🎧 You’ll receive an MP3 of this session for home practice.
Lesson 11+🎤 Lesson 11: Final Beginner Session — Showcase & Celebration This is our final beginner-level session — and a special one! Objective: To celebrate how far you’ve come and practice performing in a supportive, encouraging environment. What We’ll Do: • Final warmups and brief review • Sing the group song we’ve been working on — now with performance expression and confidence • You’ll perform your chosen song (original or cover) — as if you’re sharing it with an audience • I’ll offer feedback on your vocal growth, style, and performance skills • We’ll discuss “next steps” — whether that’s continuing coaching, open mic ideas, or even studio recording Optional: Invite a parent, sibling, friend, or caregiver to listen in for a mini “recital vibe.” (Live or via recording) 🎧 You’ll receive an MP3 of this final session as a keepsake and progress marker.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4–10: Progress & Personalization By now, you’ll know our routine, and your confidence should be growing. Each session will include: • Warmups • Breathing exercises • Song development (your choice and the group song) • Mic technique and performance style • A “check-in” to see how you’re feeling about your progress This is your time to ask questions, share challenges, and build performance readiness. 🎧 MP3 included for ongoing at-home practice.
Lesson 2-3Lessons 2–3: Exploring Your Voice We’ll continue all the practices from Lesson 1, but now we begin to shape your personal sound. I want to hear the song you want to learn — whether it’s an original piece or a cover. This will become part of your practice alongside our chosen sessional song. 🎧 MP3 included for continued home practice.
