With a decade of professional singing experience and 12 years of teaching, I'm dedicated to nurturing aspiring vocalists and helping them discover their unique sound. Please note that while my availability reflects my general teaching schedule and locational availability, sometimes rehearsals or other bookings may prevent me from being available at the specific time or location requested, but in those cases I will do my best to suggest a new time that works well for both of us!

I went to college with Tom as a percussion major, and He helped me survive my vocal pedagogy class. I mostly sing rock music now, and it's a lot easier than the classical music we had to work on in undergraduate, but I've worked with Tom since whenever I have trouble with a piece and he's always able to de-mystify the technical stuff and stop me from over singing.

Tom was great for helping me understand the way my voice works and helping me understand what music would be good for me. I mostly sing musical theater and even though Tom is an opera singer, he was still able to teach me how to do the things I needed to do to get through some hard pieces like Glory from Rent.

Tom has really helped me open up my voice. We've been working together for 6 months, and he taught me about the passagio and how to navigate it to access my upper voice. I'm still learning, but I've made a lot of progress and singing is getting easier all the time.

What you need to bringSinging doesn't require much in the way of equipment, but if you'd like to work on music with a karaoke track I encourage you to be prepared with one (YouTube is a GREAT resource!) Alternatively, please have two copies of sheet music with you if we're working off the page.
Garments that restrict mobility or breathing are not recommended.
What I can bringWhether we're working out of my apartment or a midtown studio, there will be a keyboard instrument available for exercises. I can also offer suggestions on sheet music and can provide PDFs of music in my library.
