With over 30 years of experience in the music industry, I've dedicated myself to both performing and teaching with passion and expertise. For over 27 years, I've shared my knowledge and love for music as a voice, piano, songwriting, and folk guitar instructor. Armed with a bachelor's degree in vocal performance and a full certification in the Science of Singing from the prestigious School of Sinus Tone Production in London, I offer a comprehensive approach to musical education. Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe introduce breathing and singing exercises. We look at potential repertoire. We develop a practice routine that will help the students achieve their vocal goals.
Lesson 11+We will expand our repertoire so that the student can have different pieces that they have mastered.
Lesson 4-10We refine and expand our breathing and vocal exercises. We aim towards a performance level of skill on one particular song.
Lesson 2-3We work towards establishing a sustainable and consistent vocal practice. We go more in depth with one or two pieces.
Youth players
Working with kidsI make sure to meet the child at her/his level of understanding. I make things as fun as possible while still bringing them up to new levels of skill.
Working with teenagersI make sure that teenagers work on pieces that they love and/or need to audition with or work on for school. They can also be pieces that are ideal for taking the teen to the next level.
What you need to bringPlease bring your smart phone so that you can record any of the exercises you want to practice at home. Please make a list of 10 songs you would like to be able to sing well. Please bring some water or some other liquid at room temperature or warm temperature so that you can be hydrated for your voice lesson.
What I can bringI have a Yamaha U1 console piano, a Baby Taylor guitar and a GS Mini Taylor guitar, a complete Pro Tools recording setup, various microphones and other equipment.

And if you simply want to reschedule your lesson, change the date and time, or adjust the number of students joining, we've got you covered there too. You can easily make these changes within 24 hours of booking, and up to 72 hours before your lesson starts.

I used to take singing lessons with Gfire when I lived in Austin but then I moved away. Once the pandemic lock downs hit I saw that she was offering virtual lessons online and so I reached out thinking at the very least I could increase my lung strength during these Covid times. It's been one of the smartest and most satisfying things I ever did! I live in San Francisco and we use Zoom but she also uses other video platforms. Not only are you getting great singing instruction, but she brings her yogic breathwork into the mix too. We identified a list of songs to work on which is nice. She suggested an aria for me and we've been working on that one for a while and it's amazing how much better I sing and how much my vocals have strengthened from my weekly practice and lessons. I know the other songs will be so much easier after this one. On top of being a great teacher , Gfire is just a wonderful person and I'm very glad I had the opportunity to connect with her again. She also teaches guitar, piano and songwriting and her students include both adults and children.

I took several months of lessons from gfire, and it was so good. I'm completely untrained as a singer, and I worked with her to learn a technique that taught me to sing in pitch, which is a ton harder than it looks. She taught me how to break down a song into individual, practicable pieces that I can really master. I have used these techniques outside of my work with her and they really work. Gfire is patient and has a great sense of humor, is professional and punctual, and patient. A great teacher.

I had experience as a punk/rock shout-singer, but when our backup singer left I had to learn to sing harmonies. She really helped me hone in my issues of pitch control and taught me to break the music down and work through it the most effective ways. She is extremely patient, kind and passionate.
