I started with Brian when I was in 7th grade, taking piano lessons for a couple years and then switched to doing voice. All throughout high school, I took voice lessons with Brian in the contemporary style and of course, classical to give things a solid-working basis. All I can say about myself during those years of taking lessons is that I was very “in my shell” and shy. I had a great passion for music and song since I was little... though I always had low confidence level with expressing my passion for it. When I met Brian and continued with him, my confidence improved... and not just because I was learning better techniques and mastering my abilities, but because Brian believed in me and my talent from the very start. Having Brian as an instructor was always a privilege. His lessons were always very structured, he was always quick to pick up on improvements and things I needed to work on, etc. I had just gotten into songwriting too when I first started with Brian and I will never forget sharing my original pieces with him and him always being so supportive and impressed. In my growing up years with my music, Brian was always giving me stability and grace. I am so very grateful to have had that kind of influence in looking back. In my senior year of high school, I took a huge leap of faith and auditioned for Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA for their contemporary piano-performance program. Brian helped me to solidify my preparations for the audition by giving me critiques on my audition piece, as well as reviewing scales with me and more. Needless to say, I got accepted! There aren’t enough things I can say about Brian and his impact in my music-life and learning. To this day, though I never quite ended up at Berklee, I am in Columbus, OH performing opener gigs and rocking local karaoke bars SHOWING OFF so humbly the fact that I have not just a talent with song, but a solid talent in itself BECAUSE of my background in lessons with Brian.

Brian was my very first voice teacher at age twelve. He patiently and delicately trained my young voice to grow healthily and gradually. The many years of lessons I took from Brian gave me immeasurable experience with aural skills, musicianship, and music theory. He helped prepare me for multiple recitals and choir festival auditions. Alongside the technical singing aspects that Brian helped me with, he also expanded my musical repertoire to include multiple genres and pieces that were not only valuable, but fun to learn! His guidance helped me prepare for my college audition, and to study voice at a music conservatory. Brian always inspired me to be a better musician!!! I would highly recommend Brian as a voice teacher for all ages and genres of singing.

Brian has been an amazing teacher and coach to my two HS choir kids. He has tonight them so much and helped them prepare for performances, auditions and even helped with a monologue in a pinch. Over the past year he has helped them both achieve their musical goals and I highly recommend him.
