Lesson 11+:
After completing your pants project, you can continue lessons to explore more advanced techniques and garments. These sessions can cover projects like jackets or button-up shirts and introduce skills such as using stabilizer or stay paper, working with linings, and adding decorative details like embroidery.
Lesson 4-10: Preparing the Pattern & Fabric
Pin and cut out paper pattern pieces.
Lay out and cut fabric correctly.
Transfer markings and notches to fabric.
Beginning Construction — Seams & Assembly
Sew first seams (inseams or outer seams depending on pattern).
Learn seam finishing techniques (serging, zigzag, pinking, etc.).
Press seams open or to the side.
Pocket Work (if applicable)
Construct and attach pockets (front or back).
Reinforce stitching and learn about topstitching.
Waistband or Elastic Casing
Learn how to construct and attach a waistband or create an elastic casing.
