About your saxophone teacher
I have a music degree from Clark College, and am currently pursuing my BM at Portland State University. I have 10+ years of experience playing classical saxophone. I would like to help my students learn and grow in their playing, and in their enjoyment of the saxophone! I am happy to work with students of all ages interested in picking up the saxophone or learning more about classical saxophone.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonStarting with the basics! How to put the saxophone together, where the reed goes on the mouthpiece, finger placement on the keys, and making your first sounds on the saxophone!
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson, I’ll ask the player what they feel they’d most like to work on. Then, I’ll ask them to play me something so I can gauge their level in different aspects: tone, technique, musicality, articulation, and so on. Then, I will provide them with my feedback on what they want to work on, or something that I noticed. Then I’ll provide them with an exercise to play, and provide a practice plan.
Youth players
Working with kidsI’ll make sure kids get to learn music that they like so that they enjoy playing and get motivated to practice!
Working with teenagersI will provide valuable exercises and advice for improving at the saxophone. I can assist them with repertoire in solo and ensemble or in band so that they can be successful. I will provide them with a suggested practice schedule so that they can improve their skills in the many aspects of saxophone playing.
