Beginner training plan
Your first lessonBefore anything, I hope to gather a better understanding of who you are as an individual, set goals for the future, and assess what areas in reading and writing we may need to emphasize.
Lesson 2-3Early sessions may be slightly more strenuous as we begin to fall into the schedule of everything. During this time we will be primarily doing lectures and beginning to introduce potential projects. Eg. Short stories, research papers, drafting a college essay, creating a practice test for the ACT, annotating a novel, or anything else that may fit your specific needs.
Lesson 4-10These lessons are meant to be a good mixture of lectures and projects. (Around 40/60) There will be progress check-ups each session and by the end of the program I hope for you to have created something you can appreciate.
Lesson 11+Once you’ve finished your first project, we can go about either revising it or detouring into another field. Reading and Writing is so vast and there’s always more to tackle as long as you wish to learn about it.
Youth players
Working with teenagersWhether working with teenagers or adults I will be implementing the same peer-project-based lesson plans. Using my own experiences with school, I strive to create a lower stakes environment that encourages students through passion and their own initiative. With students who are shyer or may require more guidance, I understand the value of professionalism, but I will never cross the line into shaming or pressuring anyone.
