FIRST LESSON
Focus on building comfort, confidence, and basic coordination. We’ll introduce the fundamentals: proper grip, ready position, and simple forehand/backhand movements. Players will learn key court terminology (baseline, service line, deuce/ad side) while working through hand-fed drills and controlled repetitions. The goal is to build a strong technical foundation and get the ball over the net consistently while developing a feel for the game.
Players begin applying their fundamentals in more realistic match situations. The focus shifts to consistency under pressure, shot selection, and basic strategy (court positioning, rally patterns, and constructing points). We’ll continue refining serves and returns with more purpose, while introducing situational drills and structured point play. Lessons become more individualized based on each player’s strengths and areas for improvement, with the goal of building confidence in match play and long-term development.
Players begin turning fundamentals into consistency and control. We’ll continue refining grip, footwork, and stroke mechanics while introducing directional control (crosscourt vs. down the line) and better spacing to the ball. Players will develop more reliable serves and returns, learn proper point structure, and gain a clear understanding of scoring. Drills become more rally-based with an emphasis on consistency, movement, and making clean contact under light pressure. The goal is to build confidence sustaining rallies and begin applying fundamentals in point play.
We continue building on the fundamentals introduced in the first lesson. Players will reinforce proper grips, ready position, and stroke mechanics while improving consistency through repetition and hand-fed drills. We’ll introduce footwork patterns, spacing to the ball, and proper contact points. Players will also begin learning the basics of the serve and return, along with additional court terminology and simple scoring concepts. The focus is on developing control, confidence, and a more consistent ability to rally.
Evaluate current level and establish a performance baseline. We’ll assess stroke mechanics, consistency, footwork, and overall court awareness. Focus will be on refining fundamentals (grip, spacing, contact point) while introducing rally structure and consistency drills. The goal is to identify strengths/weaknesses and begin building a more reliable, repeatable game.
Focus on match performance and advanced strategy. Players will work on patterns of play, adapting to different opponents, and executing under pressure. Emphasis on serve +1, return +1, court positioning, and mental toughness. Sessions become more individualized with match play, competitive drills, and targeted adjustments. The goal is to confidently compete and perform at a higher level.
Shift toward building a complete, competitive game. Players will develop point construction, learn to control rallies with intent, and improve transition play (approach shots, net play). Serve and return become more strategic, focusing on placement and setting up points. Drills will include live ball, situational play, and pressure-based scenarios. The goal is to execute fundamentals consistently while making smarter decisions during points.
Focus on improving consistency and control under moderate pace. Players will work on rally tolerance, directional control (crosscourt patterns), and footwork efficiency. We’ll begin emphasizing proper spacing, recovery, and shot selection, while introducing serve + first ball and return fundamentals. The goal is to sustain longer rallies with better control and positioning.
