I have been playing racquet sports since the age of 4 and had numerous different coaches growing up which have all added to my abilities not only as a player but as a coach. I will adapt my teaching to the student to make the experience personalized to how you learn and I can teach you fundamentals to have fun with friends as well as the mentality to compete in high level tournament play. I began my pickleball journey in 2019 and took lessons from a local PPA pro player, Beau Kojima, once a week for 2 years. Wes has been my longtime mixed doubles partner, and we competed in many tournaments together. He’s an all around good person and will give anything to see people improve because he knows that’s the key to them having more fun. He’s just loves to smile!!

Wes is a great player, he can hit all the shots consistently and is a tough lefty to play against from his serve to his dink, it’s hard to get the ball past him. He’s always fun to be on the court with and brings good energy to every game we play.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson we will get to know each other. I will get to know your sports background and experience. Then get you comfortable with the court, rules, how to hold the paddle, and fundamentals so we can get you playing games with your friends after just 1 lesson.
Lesson 11+We will continue to work on our fundamentals and hone techniques. I will cover nuances to improve your game and will have analyzed your strengths and weaknesses by now and know what to work on so you can beat all your friends.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-10 we will concentrate on dinks, speed ups, drop shots, resets, hands battles, and I’ll introduce you to the specialty shots like the ATP, Erne, and lob.
Lesson 2-3We will recap some of the basic skills learned from the first lesson then introduce a couple more complex shots and how to practice the skills at home to improve.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonI will gauge your ability and get to know your arsenal of shots you already have in your back pocket.
Lesson 11+Situational play will be taught and we will walk through different scenarios of shot selection. You will learn fun and skill building drills. And we will do in lesson gameplay to get you ready to compete in your tournaments.
Lesson 4-10This is where we begin to weaponize your shots and start turning you into a real threat to other teams. We will cover strategies such as poaching, signals, and where to hit shots when.
Lesson 2-3I will begin to run through tournament mentality and how to compete at a high level. We will work meticulously on strengths and weaknesses making you stronger all around.
Youth players
Working with kidsKids want to have fun, so it’s important to keep that in mind and also teach them a skill. It’s even more important to keep them engaged and give them ample water breaks and even a halftime snack.
Working with teenagersTeenagers learn so quickly so depending on how they pick up the sport we may move to advanced stuff at a rapid pace but ultimately I will go with their level of learning and play ensuring they also have a good time while doing it and checking in more often with them to get feedback on how they feel their game is improving outside of the lesson and really take interest in their development and play.
What you need to bringA paddle, water, snack, tennis shoes, and athletic shorts. No open toed shoes are allowed. No jeans or slacks are allowed. You want to be able to move freely.
