Beginner training plan

Your first lessonI will give a brief description of the court dimensions, explain the no volley zone (kitchen). I will also explain the dimensions of the net from the ends to the middle and the dimensions of the No volley zone. I will explain the serving style and direction. I will briefly explain the scoring system. I will demonstrate the serve and describe the changing of position when you make a point. I will then bring my group to the net and explain dinking, the mechanics of the shot and the reason we dink. I will explain proper footwork technique while dinking, ie side to side movement. I will also explain how to stay safe in Pickkeball and no trio and falls or back pedaling for balls. I will demonstrate the proper strike to dink. We will dink together for practice. I will explain front and back dink as well as cross court dinks. If we have time I will demonstrate and let my students try serving. If I have 3 students after everyone practices a serve I will explain the return of serve and court positioning as well. If my students are not overwhelmed and feel ready I will go right into a game. I will okay with each student in a round robin series so everyone can have some personal 1 on 1 critique as my partner.

Lesson 11+A more comprehensive understanding of the game and the dynamics and how to stay safe while being athletic and competitive. This is a social game and a great opportunity to get out in the fresh air, meet new friends and socialize within a community that is open to all, and inclusive to anyone regardless of past athletic experience. Anyone can play pickleball but don’t blame me when you get addicted lol.

Lesson 4-10Learning paddle position, ready position, side step, open stance and staying low when playing. Understanding serve and stay, return and run

Lesson 2-3We start off our next lesson with stretching out our bodies, practicing our side to side movement at the net. We will do front and back dinking and cross court dunking. I will also demonstrate and explain a volley at the net without entering the kitchen or NVZ, )no volley zone). We will warm up with dinks and volleys at the net, go right to practice our serves and return of serves and end with a game or two again.
