Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe first learn the rules. What makes pickleball different from other racket sports and why. And then we try and play as much as we can with the time we have left to try and understand game flow
Lesson 4-10This is when we learn how to hit all the shots we need. We will learn some strategy and a lot of developing the shots you need to control points.
Lesson 2-3This is when we learn how most points tend to go. Serving, returning and what the third shot looks like. How most pickleball points are created. And a little bit of how to hit those shots that are critical to learn.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonThere are 2 ways a meeting like this goes. 1, they know exactly what they want to work on and we focus on that for the whole hour. The other way is that they don’t know and I do an analysis of what I think is giving them problems and then we try and fix that.
Lesson 11+More of the same. There is always more work to be done.
Lesson 4-10This is mostly strategy now. The drilling and getting better at the shots that we helped them fix is on them. The strategy is to unfold and uncover for me.
Lesson 2-3This is usually more of the same. Taking one thing and expanding on it and drilling it until it feels good. Then sending them to go practice it on their own.
Youth players
Working with kidsThis is more technical and game oriented training. I use games to team them to have fun and hit the ball the right way. That way then enjoy the sport the whole time they are doing it.
Working with teenagersIt is similar to kids but it depends on the age. The younger they are the more game oriented I will be. And less drill oriented
