Hello! I'm Nathan, a dedicated pickleball enthusiast with a play rating fluctuating between 4.8 and 5.2. I've passionately embraced the sport, competing in numerous tournaments and refining my gameplay. While I haven't taken up formal coaching, I'm always eager to offer friendly advice and have been guiding newcomers to the sport for the past four years. My approach centers on laying a strong foundation. If you're new to pickleball, we'll start with the basics, ensuring you grasp the fundamentals. Together, we'll engage in volleys back and forth, developing your game one swing at a time.

Nathan knew we were beginners and gave us a little time to handle the paddle and ball (the first time we had touched either one) and made sure we understood the rules, etc. We had watched plenty of YouTube videos so he didnβt waste too much time explaining everything. Our first lesson was serving. He gave us plenty of time and instruction to try out different techniques. He was always encouraging but wasnβt afraid to say what he saw areas that we could do better in.
Next we worked on receiving the serve. He gave us some instruction and time to feel it out. He gave us 2 different things to work this on and itβs up to us to take what we have learned and practice, practice, practice.
Weβd be fools if we thought only taking lessons is enough. We left with a good idea of what we need to work on ourselves this week if possible.
Nathan was instructive and corrective but also gave us time to work out what works for us individually regarding how we are comfortable holding the paddle and the different ways to do it. Looking forward to our next lesson.

I had played pickleball about 10 times before I decided to sign up for lessons. Nathan was a random pick for an instructor and I could not be happier! He is an excellent communicator. He assessed my skills and proceeded accordingly. As we did drills, he pointed out things I was not even aware of that were holding me back. I have already noticed a big improvement after only one lesson! I canβt wait for my next!

Myself and two of my girlfriends had our first beginners' lesson with Nathan. He was so patient! He repeated things over and over as each of us was absorbing rules at different times. Haha. I feel we all accomplished quite a bit in our first lesson. I highly recommend Nate.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonBasic rules of the games answering any questions you have going over scoring and how to call the score. Basic dinking at the kitchen warm up, volleying at the net, going over serve and return.
Lesson 11+Advancing level up mechanics.
Lesson 4-10Completing an entire game from start to finish. Strategy, angles top spin slice, speed ups, back hand and forehand.
Lesson 2-3Working on more serve and returns. Work on 3rd shots 4th shots. Cross court dinking.
