Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFor one that has never played pickleball before we start out with some simple stretches to prevent injury. We then feel out the ball and the paddle to work on some hand eye coordination and an understanding of how the ball bounces and reacts to both the floor and the paddle. After we demonstrate some control we begin to learn the basic rules of pickleball and the different types of shots that one can expect in a match.
Lesson 11+This is where we can really evaluate one’s game and rank what parts need the most improvement to the least and create an agenda to improve on different skills to reach one’s goals.
Lesson 4-10This is where muscle memory really begins to show and then we work in court positioning and anticipation of the opponents next shot and location. Between reading their body language to paddle position, we work in shot selection accompanied by proper execution.
Lesson 2-3On the second and third lessons we work on consistency and begin to be aware of court positioning. We drill varying shots one at at time to develop muscle memory to obtain that consist shot.

Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with kids it’s really about patience and breaking things down while most importantly fun. We celebrate each personal victory and encourage mistakes as learning opportunities.

Working with teenagersWith teenagers, we work on basic skills but most importantly keeping composure and calmness during stressful parts of the game. This carries over to parts of like where making calm decisions leads to strong execution.

What you need to bringAthletic sneakers, preferably pickleball, tennis, or basketball sneakers. Hydration.

What I can bringI will provide balls and paddles if needed as well.

That lesson was really fun, honestly. Michael's straightforward style keeps it relaxed but still quite effective, and I left feeling pretty motivated to practice more. Though I’d like to see a bit more variety in the drills, the session definitely captures the enjoyable vibe he creates. Still, I think anyone interested should definitely give Michael a try.

I was really impressed by how Michael focused on both decision-making and execution, especially the emphasis on entering zone one and adjusting shots. His tips on mid-court resets and always returning to the ready position were very clear and useful. If you want coaching that highlights key improvements and next steps, Michael’s lessons are worth trying! 😊

The lesson was quite thorough with Michael maintaining constant engagement and focus throughout. His teaching skills really kept me involved, which made the whole experience quite insightful.

Let me start by saying that Mike isn’t a “those who can’t do, teach” kind of instructor. He’s a great player that has a really intuitive sense of the game that he communicates well to a student during a lesson. He gives specifics on things that you’re doing wrong but with solid cues and instructions on how to do it correctly. A few words can change something you’ve been doing for months into something more effective. Definitely invested in helping people get better and maximize their potential as a player.

Mike has significantly improved my anticipation and kitchen game. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fun to work with. Highly recommend!

Mike is an incredible pickleball coach! His guidance helped me take my game to the next level. By focusing on positioning near the kitchen line and being more aggressive with volleys, I saw significant improvement. His commitment, approach, and ability are truly top-tier - I couldn't be more grateful for the lessons!
