Beginner training plan
Your first lessonUnderstanding the basics of pickleball. Rules, positioning, swing types
Lesson 2-3Start to expand beyond comfort zones to create more well rounded player. Diving deeper into swings types to better understand what play type fits each player best
Lesson 4-10Learn how spins will affect the ball and change the movement as it flies through the air. Focus on placement of shots to make opponents adjust
Lesson 11+Scrimmage style lessons to see what adjustments can be made. Live style repetitions will give the best feedback and opportunity for quick improvements
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonQuick questioning to see what the background of player is. Go through a warm up to see what the skill level of the player is. Review of the rules to make sure nothing is missed
Lesson 2-3Scrimmage style lesson to see what areas of improvement are needed. From there specific drills to work in that area
Lesson 4-10Drills from previous lesson as a reminder of what was worked on. More scrimmage style lesson to work on other areas that may have been missed before
Lesson 11+At this point hopefully the player is very well-rounded and we can work on specific strategies to use depending on the opponent they are facing
Youth players
Working with kidsMaking lessons fun and interactive for the kids, but most importantly framing them in a way that they know that are making progress and are being successful
Working with teenagersProviding a learning environment where the feedback is positive and supportive of the player. Helping the teenager achieve results that they themself can see and know the progress they have made
