Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst of all, introduce myself; 2nd Warm up and stretch ; 3rd Introduce what’s Pickleball; 4th brief introduction of how to play and the rules. After that show student how to grab the paddle, bounce the ball with forehand and backhand. Then teach them where to stand and stance as well as footwork. Show them how to serve- let the students do the drills(1st day learn how to do top spin serve with forehand)
Lesson 2-3Practice serve, learn how to return the serve and do drills
Then practice serve and return the serve.
Explain why we have to learn dink, show them how to dink (forehand dink and backhand dink), do drills
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-7 Continue learning drills (cross court dink forehand and backhand) Review what we learned from lessons 1-3 and see how the students mastered.
Then teach them how to play forehand drive and do drills. How to play volley at the kitchen line. Teach them how to play a game and the rules .
Lessons 8-10 learn how to play 3rd short drop and lob. Do drills. Let students play games by using all those skills.
Lesson 11+Learn How to do forehand backspin serve (more difficult serve then topspin), learn how and when to use different skills. Where do you let the landed to make your opponent more difficulty to return your ball. I am sure after taking 20 lessons and if you practice not only at class, but also play with other players more often with the knowledge and skills I taught, your skill level can reach at least 2.5+
